To be or not to be, oh so infamous an expression but where does the meaning lie? Yet, the very question and format of the sentence belays the essence of art…to bring meaning to life. Emotions are what keep us alive, what inspire us, what motivate us to live and let live, and to endure the strongest experience of all…love. Acting is not only a form of expression, it is not only the eliciting of behavior, but it is a fulfillment of our natural curiosity, each other, humanity.
I want to study acting, not only because it makes me feel alive, it gives me practical insight into human nature. It feeds into my curiosity of the essence of connection, human interaction, and camaraderie. Furthermore, only through common vulnerability does organic camaraderie arise, part of the reason cast members become so close to one another. In today’s conventional schools systems, they push the STEM programs, being Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Yet, as the acronym implies, it is a stem, a skeleton, and a well-organized set of bones but what do these bones support? The arts bring context to humanities’ drive for achievement; the arts are the meat on the bones. Only when emotions are elicited does true inspiration arise, do we truly remember what we experience, do we truly learn…in all facets of life. To become a trained master in the art of expression, of innate response, of keen listening, of natural awareness of intercellular rhythm, with the analogy that just as cells come together to make tissue, and tissue come together to make organs, etc. human beings can be magnified to the extent of cells that have natural affinity to those that serve the same function. Acting heightens our awareness of human interpersonal affinity, chemistry, and rhythm. These skills are priceless, and where better to learn them than through the safe and trustworthy environment of a professional acting conservatory? Acting makes me feel alive, and the skills I gain from the training I receive as an actor can transfer to applications in life that go well beyond the stage and in-front of the camera. It is a craft that only few choose to dive into holistically, but those who do have the advantage of patience, acceptance, and understanding of humanity in the raw. This I could never pass up even if I were given a billion dollars to sit in the highest tower atop a Wall Street thriving conglomerate. As there is no greater reward in life than the true experience of another human being.

Hobbies, Interests & Activities:
I basically try to make the most of my life by trying just about anything that does not threaten my health or well-being. I enjoy the performing arts and especially musical performance in percussion, specializing in Middle Eastern percussion. I also enjoy dancing in hip-hop, Latin dance (salsa, merengue, and bachata), and Middle Eastern form. In regards to sports I am a daily mountain biker, although now my terrain is mainly dodging cars in the city rather than roots and stumps in the woods. In addition, I rock climb when I can, and when I cannot I tend to climb random trees. As far as favorite past-times go, I enjoy just sitting in public places and watching people. When I am feeling introverted I like watching how pigeons act and I have come to find that many answers to practical application in the human world can be found in observing the flow of nature. Awards, Honors, Achievements: I have co-authored abstracts for medical journals in vascular surgery research, which have been accepted for presentation into the American Heart Association. I have also worked in humanitarian fields, as in Habitat for Humanity, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. I also started my own business at the age of eighteen to try and counteract my educational loan debt while in school through e-commerce stores online. Educational Background: I recently graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, MA with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Neuroscience, while minoring in Theatre and Business. I have also acquired a license as a Massachusetts Real Estate Broker. Community, School, Work Involvement, and Leadership Qualities: Most of my work experience has been in sales, and I started to work at the age of fifteen. The biggest community work I do is for my family, as the money I have earned over the years while working has not been just for me but in aid to support my immediate family. Their debt is my debt and mine is theirs, that is simply how my brother and I were raised; it is a mentality that has instilled a lot values of selflessness in me that I greatly respect. Currently I volunteer at Brigham and Woman's Hospital as a research assistant in Vascular Surgery. For the financial support I am a real estate broker, working specifically with students and young professionals. I enjoy philanthropic activities and have traveled to Georgia for tornado relief, I have also worked with Habitat for Humanity, and at St. Francis soup kitchen. My main leadership role is in running my business and analyzing risks involved with such responsibilities and taking fiduciary care to my real estate clients with the utmost honesty and respect for their best interests. Three things you value most in life: Family, Education, and Life itself. Words to Describe Your Personality & Character: Caring, kind, ambitious, risk taker, spontaneous, respectful, mindful, understanding, non-judgmental, outgoing, ambiverted, empathetic, adventurous, nomadic, modestly confident ("keep your head up high but your nose at a friendly level"). I enjoy any kinds of challenges and I believe the more challenges I endure the more comfortable I will become in confronting them in the future. The saying, “practice make perfect” is not only limited to concrete applications but also abstractly in character development. I also like meeting new people and expanding my network of contact exposure, in order to increase my peripheral vision of the world of that I occupy. The competition of making a career out of the performing arts is simply a venue for me to continue to experience the aforementioned statements. Plus, I get a natural high from being on stage that I have become addicted to. Describe your life ambition: My life ambition is as complicatedly simple as having a happy life with a healthy family and financial stability. It would also be nice to be able to start some kind of grant program for students with alternative learning methods than are commonly adhered to in current mainstream education. I do not think that we teach in a way that compliments how we naturally learn and I would love to start a non-profit dedicated to educational reform. |
